Ingredients
-
2 Ribeye or New York Strip Steaks (about 1–1.5 inches thick)
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
2 tsp kosher salt
-
1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
-
Fresh rosemary sprigs (optional)
-
2 tbsp unsalted butter
RCS Gas Grill Instructions
1. Preheat Your Grill
Heat your RCS Gas Grill to high (around 450–500°F). Clean and oil the grates for optimal searing.
2. Season the Steaks
Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil—season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
3. Grill the Steaks
- Place steaks directly over high heat.
- Grill for 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting time for your preferred doneness.
- Add a sprig of rosemary on top while cooking for extra aroma.
4. Butter Baste (Optional, but amazing!)
During the last minute of grilling, top each steak with a pat of butter and let it melt into the meat.
5. Rest and Serve
Remove steaks from the grill and let rest 5 minutes before slicing. This keeps them juicy and flavorful.
Chef’s Tip
For perfect grill marks, rotate the steak 90° halfway through cooking on each side.
Tip for RCS Grilling:
Use the infrared sear burner to get a beautiful char before finishing over indirect heat.
